PEN ILLUSTRATIONS

With this piece I went with a post apocalyptic theme. I really like the outcome, however, I think it also portrays how some individuals feel trapped by the social norms and expectations of society.
I used the triangles to guide this drawing, starting with a basic outline then filling in the detail with black and coloured pens.

I want the viewer to feel as if they're sitting on top of a mountain, peaking through a gap in the trees to see a vast sea of mountains.
This is the first illustration I created with only dot work. I find the outcome fascinating and love the detail of the birds.
These two pieces are inspired by my previous 'Flight' illustration. Focusing on the use of dot work and nature.
This quick sketch has a deeper meaning of wanting to escape the stress and worry of the pandemic. I like the effect created with the outer circle drawing your eye into the centre of the illustration.
Although a smaller piece, I like the cartoon illustration. Focusing on the use of dot work and nature.
I used circles and shading to draw your attention onto the central illuminati eye.
This was my first attempt working with pens.
Placing patterns in separate sections creates an aesthetic look to the piece.
For me, this piece represents the higher power looking down on us.
I love how the large circles, filled with patterns stand out from the sea if smaller circles underneath.
This is one of my favourite illustrations. I love the effect the lines have in shaping the mountains, and the shading of the grey pens gives it depth.
I like the simplicity of this piece. The use of minimalism helps focus the eye on the patterns drawn.

This is another favourite of mine. The pitch black background helps the buildings and patterns stand out, making the piece more intricate.

When drawing the piece I let my pen do the guiding. I'm not sure whether I like the outcome, however, I find it interesting that each time I look at it I see something different.
This piece is my interpretation of a hurricane. Representing the multiple storms we've experienced in the UK.
